Mateja Dujić and Neira Sinanbašić are two fashion and industrial designers. Their friendship goes back to high school, but after years of working individually and enriching their CVs with numerous projects and awards within the different fields of professional design, their like-minded tastes, and design aesthetics led them to found this fashion label together.
With an idea to create simple yet memorable garments, by rejecting complicated forms, layers, patterns, and colors, they are creating strong, timeless high fashion pieces whilst employing their minimalistic aesthetics and values as a guideline.
Considering hyper production irresponsible, tasteless and ecologically harmful, they aim for a conscientious and thorough approach towards fashion. Assigning to the main roles of the creative process the quality of the material and ethical nature of production, together with the originality of design.
First, they started a project together-CUT collection. It took them more than one year to develop it and trough that process they decided to start a company. Inspiration was actually a need for well made, high-quality pieces. They like nice and simple but still a bit different clothes-now we have this opportunity to have it on a daily basis.
Models from collection 222 are inspired by '80s and their favorite icon of that era-princess Diana and her private style that is recognizable by suit jackets with wide shoulders, high-waist pants, and sets of suits that cherish grace and womanhood but also have a touch of strong character and casualness. Suits from their new collection have X shape, they kept their strict forms but they also gave a lot of space for individuality in stylization. They always put the accent on quality of handmade suits, great mastery of craftsmanship, combined with subtle sex appeal.
The latest collection is Mellow, and it is inspired by fashion that was worn by their mothers at their age. As kids-they couldn't wait for the times when they can wear the same style. Finally, the time for co-ord sets, wide shoulders and feminine style is here. The collection has a classic style with statement pieces like coats, topcoats, faux fur details, wool, and silk. This time they have men suits and new accessories, as well as fedora hats made in collaboration with great hat-designer Sara Zavernik from Ljubljana (Slovenija).
Each item they design is contemporary in appearance and traditional in production. Their garments come as a result of the skilled hands of several tailors and seamstresses, who hand stitch and tailor everything in a small creative facility. The end results of this process are unique items that will successfully withstand time and become seemingly irreplaceable to the owner.
