The latest Burton collection reeks innovation at its finest. Jake Burton is simply living everyman’s dream by making money out of what he loved doing. Explaining what the brand is all about, Burton emphasizes that it is more from the function side of things rather than the fashion side. Dealing with all the products that are related to skiing and snowboarding, the brand has slowly risen in the ranks to become what it is today.

Burton has named the brand Mine 77, and he tagged it as the signature product collection, but with the waves that it has gathered, it has proven to be more than that. To Burton, the basic idea was just the development of products and constant improvement through adjustments testing and tweaking for everything that has to do with snowboarding. The brand has also given him the opportunity to work with a lot of other fashion brands around the world.

However, this did not all come as a roller coaster for Burton, and there wouldn’t be mine 77 collections without the occurrence of the life-threatening illness. Apparently, Burton got his inspiration from the sick bed and as he was recovering and had another opportunity at life, this woke is the creative mindset. Burton wanted to do something extremely out of the box and maybe comfort zone, but for the intervention of his missus Donna, Mine 77 wouldn’t have been born. Donna told him to do his own thing, and he channeled the creative mindset into creating special products some of which have not being experienced in the snowboarding world before.

Burton created the brand name Mine 77 from a common slang of his friend and pro surfer that goes by the name Benji Weatherly. Burton also feels that the name is a perfect fit since a mine is a place to visit for silvers and gold, and he somewhat sees his products as such.

The Man Jake Burton

Born in 1954, Jake Burton is a seasoned American surfer and snowboarder. Burton skied all through his younger years, and he considered taking it professionally until the unfortunate occurrence of a car accident. This accident abruptly put a stop to his skiing career. However, Burton finished up his degree program in economics at the New York University.
Upon graduation, still nursing his skiing dreams, he returned back to the slopes, but this time with a very much improved snowboard that can be easily controlled. He quickly realized that he doesn’t stand a chance at snowboarding anymore, so he ventured into the manufacturing and designing of snowboards and features to enable the rider to snowboard safely. All of these he did with a small group of other guys
Burton suffered from a lot of sicknesses like testicular cancer and a rare neurological disorder. According to him, it was from this sick bed that he got the inspiration to build the brand that he has today.

Below are some amazing collection form Mine 77:

The Bib Pant
According to Burton, this is one of the products that he is excited about. The bib pant side is simply a combination of about 8 pockets. These pockets provide the opportunity of keeping a lot of things during snowboarding. They are also made in such a way that they provide maximum protection to anything that is kept in the pocket.

Compression Slit Toe Sock
This stocks were designed by a Japanese burton crew Tokyo and were available only in the Japanese market. This is due to its high price for the Us market. However, an order can be placed to ship in these socks in the US. Once you snowboard with the socks, you just might never want to make use of another one again. It offers a thin, warm feeling and can function for helping you keep your grip on the sole. Unlike other types of socks, the split toe will enable you to spread your foot very well while snowboarding.
